Islander 36:
This is the original SailShare plan. It offers incredible
value and flexibility. You sail one of our Islander 36’s,
Marilyn Anne or Ah Cha, choosing whatever sail time slots
meet your particular needs. Half day rates are $175 for
peak time slots and $135 for non peak slots. Full 24 hour
day sails are $290 on weekends and holidays or$200 on weekdays.
Special events slots are $275 for the 3rd of July fireworks,
Venetian Night fireworks and boat parade, and the air and
water show. The minimum usage fee is $2,000, which provides
sufficient sailing time each season for most of our skippers.
For frequent sailors, who can on occasion sail during the
week, we offer an exceptional value option of eight off
peak sails for an additional $425.
The Islander 36 is an extremely popular classic on the
west coast, with 200 of them sailing out of the San Francisco
Bay alone. With a PHRF rating of 147, many race competitively.
Known also as a good trade wind cruiser, at least two have
circumnavigated the globe. The Islander 36 has been described
as a perfect San Francisco Bay boat, because of the ease
with which it handles changing wind and sea conditions.
Winds on the bay can go from 15 to 40 knots in minutes.
The wind and wave variability challenges that draw sailors
to San Francisco Bay are also found in southern Lake Michigan,
making the Islander 36 a perfect boat for Chicago sailors,
too.
