SailMate is designed for persons who intend to complete
their sailing certification during summer, but want
to gain on-the-water sailing experience as crew before or
while they complete their formal training to become a skipper.
SailMate members pay only the $550 membership fee. They
are eligible to book crew slots on all SailClub group sails.
They can also post on each yacht’s website bulletin board
their availability as crew for shorthanded skippers. Although
only fully qualified skippers are permitted to leave a yacht’s
mooring, SailMate members are eligible to book time slots
on Whirlaway for their own on-the-mooring relaxation and
learning.
Upon completion of their skipper certification, SailMate
members may pay the additional $500 and convert their membership
to SailClub.
